der frankfurter jo jena ist jetzt auf der neuen tube21 zu hören... eine mischung aus folk, ambient, sound- & drone-ästhetik. das release ist unspektakulär, aber das muß es nicht sein denn das ist chill out. musik zum zuhören und natürlich zum entspannen. wunderbar!

meinungen sind auch dazu da, sie zu ändern. wie zum beispiel bei enchanted mountains von thanos chrysalkis. ich gebe zu, ich habe mich vom ersten hören lediglich von meinen gefühlen leiten lassen, aber so ist das nun mal.

dem künstler selbst hat das nichts ausgemacht, ganz im gegenteil. erst dadurch kam ein sehr netter e-mail-kontakt zustande, der mir auch die ohren zu seiner musik geöffnet hat. thanos hat eine ganz eigene art und ein ganz eigenes ambient-fach. seine musik muss man zwei oder dreimal hören - dann aber auch bewußt - um sie zu verstehen zu können.

sehr kopflastig geht er also mit seiner klassischen musikausbildung an ambient-themen heran, und das nicht um massen zu begeistern, sondern fans von "micro-acousmati-work".
meine empfehlung somit an alle, denen es beim ersten hören vielleicht wie mir erging, noch mal ganz genau zuhören :)

-n returns with a solo effort by andrey kiritchenko, with a palette full of rhythms and textures of the spaces in, around and between us. the first track 'spreading comets' also kicked off our release last month - we now hear it in a more personal context. the melodies that seemed brooding just last month seem less sinister in the arc of the 4 tracks. rhythm returns us to a more familiar place before we embark away from the familiar. 'scatter stars' continues the journey with a persistent meditation on the sounds around us. the melodic drone produces a wakeful dreamstate as we listen to the everyday. the dream waxes into tension as 'spread your satellites' begins with repetition that becomes drone, opening the ears to the rhythms and tones sitting just behind us. the ep closes with 'mythree,' as melodies melt into washes of noise, then rhythms, before returning to a more familiar groove and tempo. and just when we think we have made a journey, we realize that we are exactly where we began.
