Kasper Knigge

Kasper Knigge
(København, Danmark)

Kasper Knigge was from an age of six trained as a percussionist on instruments such as: Drums, Congas, Pausks, Vibraphone, Marimba, Crash and a lots of more. From an age of 12 he started playing concerts in a big band regulary. Following his interest in various musical genres he was playing both classical, pop, rock, reggae, jazz and more and toured Europe with different now a days unknown bands throughout his teens.
Due to a damage of his right hand caused by overly intense practice he stopped playing at the age of 20 and began art-studies and travelling. However, in 2006 music re-entered his praxisfield and he has since then finished two albums and formed the band Writins Ovrload.

Josh Winiberg

Josh Winiberg
(Berlin, Germany)

Born in Essex, England, Josh began to teach himself the piano at the age of 14 after discovering the work of Ludovico Einaudi on Classic FM. Two years later, he had composed and released his first solo piano album and began performing his works internationally. Over the next few years, Josh released two more piano albums, as well as began experimenting with other styles and working on many projects (including writing for short films and video games). Now living in Berlin, it should come as no suprise that over the last year Josh has moved away from his instrumental style to focus on electronic music. Josh's combined background of soundtracks, classical and electronic music makes for an interesting melting-pot of ideas, creating music full of idiosyncracies and distinct character.

Passive Defence

Jochen Dworeck
(Wiesbaden, Deutschland)

Though he didn't learn playing a musical instrument, Jochen has been interested in music since he began thinking. Born in 1974 he made his first musical experiences in a band with some schoolmates when he was 18. Spontaneously he just grabbed the mic and let emotions flow - this was what everybody was doing in this formation. 'This instinctive and sometimes even chaotic proceeding is till reflected in today's productions' he says. After two years the band split up and besides Jochen there were two people remaining who wanted to take the next steps in music production. Affected by bands like 'Nine Inch Nails', 'Ministry' and the legendary 'Einstürzende Neubauten' from Germany they began to deal with samples and sequencers. Some time passed and Jochen bought his first personal computer, an Atari, with which he made his first tries in production: 'It was very hard to get the sound the way I wanted it to be because the possibilities were very limited and the sounds were very poor'. Things changed with Cubase in 2002 and due to the ability of recording audiotracks he got back to guitars and basses which he uses now and then. Besides the fact that all acoustic samples he uses are recorded by himself, he also gets even more on experimental plains like using field recordings or tweaking very strange sounds: 'My music is more intended to be listened than to be danced to'. When producing music the most important factor for him is atmosphere and mood. Most of his works are soloproductions, but nevertheless he also likes cooperations because they bear new and fresh ideas. For him music is a diary to write down his very personal experiences and sentiments. taken from www.stadtgruenlabel.net
